Easiest Megaman Game?

I suck at Megaman. I've played 1-3 and X and I always die very quickly without even reaching the stage boss. Which one is the easiest? Which one should I start with? Following a guide, I've beaten a decent chunk of X and gotten to the Wily stages in 2. Thanks everybody!

Easiest is relative... In the normal series, 2 is the easiest. Start with Metal Man, and the rest is cake. In the X series... probably X 2 or 4... Dunno... 1-4 are all similar in difficulty, with 3 being a touch more difficult. From 5 on, they are a bit tougher, and less good. Mega Man Xtreme on the Gameboy Color was pretty easy as I recall. The remake of the first Mega Man X on PSP was pretty easy also.

The Megaman X remake on psp was pretty easy...until you reach the last boss on vile mode that is. Good times end at that point and it becomes both a test of your skill/equipped gear and a struggle for patience. That was easily one of the best additions to the game imo.
