After reading the Nintendo.fr website about the free games, what I understood is that they won't release all the 10 NES games at the same time, but it will be released "later, spanned all over the year" like normal e-shop NES games, and for the people who connected to e-shop at least once before august 12th they will be able to download them freely.

I thought I would have 10 games at the same time, but the way Nintendo see it is better for them because it will force the users to come and check regularly the e-shop, and will require that you update your Firmware to access latest e-shop versions (for example if people wouldn't want to update because of later flashcards detection firmware).

And it's not starting 11th august like Pong said in the first post, it's will be available only on September 1st.

Edit:
Well, I guess I misread

It seems it will be pre-released as a free 10 games pack on September 1st, and these games will be released over the year as paid games for other users.
But maybe they will span the GBA games releases instead of giving 10 at the same time.

ive just called um the 11th Freebies because if your 3DS is bought and accessed the e-shop after that date then you wont get them

I was disappointed that there were no VC releases this week. Well, 3DS cards are finally available where I live, so I'll probably pick up Game and Watch Gallery when I get a card. And I'll get 2 if it is ever released, but not 3 as I have the GBC version of it.

I am, however, looking forward to the NES and GBA games, though. And it seems my French is improving. I could read the first 2 paragraphs without need for Google Translate.
