Hacking dvdx on 4.0

ok dont tell me it works lol im on 4.0 downgraded installed dvdx went back to 4.0 and now mplayer ce or mplayer wont read dvds i tried them on 3.2 and they work do i need to do an advanced install or something?and i checked ATD and dvdx was installed

According to HackMii, DVDX survives the update. So it should be possible, maybe search around a bit on the forums.

I can confirm that DVDX does survive the update. Did you install the original DVDX? All I did was a normal install and it still functions.

Try downloading the latest version of MPlayer.
It should have work, but should have been install before updating to 4.o
If you didn't install DVDx before being in 4.0 then it might be a problem, as some apps don't work anymore even when you downgrade
to 3,2.

i did do the normal install it'll start the dvd drive hang for a second then i can move around again but the dvd drive stops and doesnt play the movie ive tried originals and data discs, i assume it semi works to even start the drive up right?
