dvd reader

hello i have a black softmodded 4.2e wii and i was advised that the only way i can play back ups thro discs was to use a external dvd reader i have since purchased one fitted it via usb port but when i click on uloader and try and use it all i get is error ret102 can anybody give me any advise please thanks

Sorry dude I THINK you just wasted a good number of bucks on that =S
External Hard Disk, mate, not DVD reader.
It's like a Giant USB Drive that usually has like 500GB of storage space. You put the games on it using WBFS Manager and plug it in the Wii then use Neogamma to load it.

that is what i was using originally but i cant seem to get all my back ups to work that is when i was advised about the dvd reader

As for your issue, Umm like, do you have uloader 3.5 or higher? Cause if it's lower then it wouldn't work..
That's all I could find. I'll keep searching though.
