If you can get it to work, then no. However, most wiis cant read dvd+rs

cause most people don't know what bitsetting and booktype mean.

and you could have asked this in the noob paradise sticky at the top. cause that's where it belongs.

Mine read them perfectly.
As long as you force the DVD booktype to DVD-ROM, you can use DVD+R.
The Wii will read them as DVD-R, however, if the disc is damaged or scratched the lens will be harmed quicker than with regular DVD-R, so you'd better stick to DVD-R.

However I use Verbatim DVD-R and the lowest burning speed (2x).

DVD-R =BEST
DVD+R= OK (change your booktype to DVD-ROM)
DVD-RW= WORST POSSIBLE

Try a good brand like Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim.

Sony is ok

Avoid brands like Memorex or Philips.

if your wii reads +r then you are not a usuall case,
and as an personal tip, you dont need to burn at 2x unless you have a REALLYYYYY old drive and pc, burn at 8x 16x and test the burn, you will see that you get better results

Mine reads DVD+Rs fine, however, I notice a better compatibility if I use DVD-Rs (Especially Verbatim -Rs). If you're using +Rs and are not sure how to set booktype, then I suggest using ImgBurn to burn Wii games. It will automatically set the booktype to DVD-Rom when you use them.
