Not if you've already installed updates; the update overwrites the base files.

Override is probably a better term, since the update and the base game are still separate in terms of installation. To the game though they are the same and merged.

This is exactly why I asked, just wanted to know if we knew how.

Move the update/dlc data to a USB, and then eject the USB.

Hmmm, attempted to delete the update but I could not start the game without updating it. Even with the system calls from a different game to launch it.

I really want the original version of Splatoon.

What if you disable your Internet connection?

I doubt you will be able to go online with an older version in the first place.

I do not want to go online with it, but yes I attempted to do that, but there is a flag that is forcing it to update on the console.
