Hi,

Here is the first release of a Duke Nukem 3D engine (eduke32). i do have put some time in it to make it as good as possible, i think i did succeed :)
I wanted to make a little video to show you how this game is cool, but well, the custom rom on my phone is a little crappy and doesn"t allow video recording yet :x

i currently doesn't have the time to write a lot of information about the port, but you'll find a few on the release page : https://github.com/Cpasjuste/eduke32/releases

I hope you'll enjoy :)

THANKS
  • devkitPro and libnx people: yellows8, plutoo, profi200, WntrMute ....
  • eduke32 team
  • ScHlAuChi for providing a 3.0 Switch! (you rock mate)
i cant get this to work on 5.0.1 how

It would be awesome to add a GRP select to be able to play Duke Carribean, Nuclear Winter Duke it Out in DC GRP's :)
Also, be able to play some modded .def (custom game content)
with music support and it will be the best GOTY :D !

Is it possible to disable vertical aiming somehow?
I'd rather not have the right joycon be able to aim vertically, AKA DOOM style

(The options ingame don't disable anything)

Lol wat? You're just playing regular duke 3D.

We're talking about the add-on packs. Vacation, Duke in DC and Nuclear Winter. Nobody can get those running lol
Oh, thought you meant the other chapters. That will likely have to be fixed in source, then compile, then put files in.

I´m on firmware 1.0.0, running hbl 1.0.0 also. Game loads and works ok, but NO SOUND and no music (no music is expected, but no sound?)?
Any fix?

Switch/eduke32_v1.2
Then add:
doom1.wad
DUKE.RTS
DUKE3D.GRP
eduke32.cfg
eduke32.log
eduke32.nro
Kgdoom.wad

Working on 5.1.0

Hi guys, finally a new release on github (1.3), with only two changes: autoload working, and ogg musics :)

To get musics working :
  • create an "autoload" folder in the eduke32 directory on your sdcard (where eduke32.nro is located)
  • replace your current eduke32.cfg with the one in the 1.3 version (or add "NoAutoLoad = 0" in the Setup section of your eduke32.cfg)
  • download a music pack from http://hrp.duke4.net/download.php (tested with "Roland SC-55 Music Pack v4.02" pack)
  • copy the zipped pack to the newly created "autoload" folder
  • enjoy !

@notimp, hope you'll enjoy ! (this was done mainly for you)

Autoload is for Addon Extensions right ? Like NuclearWinter etc... ?

I'm not very used to eduke but it seems yes (at least it allow high resolution packs (untested) and audio packs.)

No for mods I think you need to edit the eduke32.cfg file.

for me the game is running fine and with sound

firmware: 5.1.0
duke version: 20th anniversary
autoload: soundpack

But it crashes when I want to play docked with the pro controller
And I needed to configure a button for the usage of the choosen inventory item ;)
