Dual boot L4T Ubuntu without losing data

Is it possible to install a dual boot L4T Ubuntu/ Atmosphere without losing the existing Atmosphere setup and data?

Not without advanced Linux knowledge and it's very time consuming.
You can boot L4T ubuntu from a usb key or HDD/SSD if you want.

Yes, you can only have to backup your sd and emummc before formatting

easiest solution : backup all your data and nand, then partition and restore

harder solution : manually partition necessary linux partition yourself with partition manager, then fix archive bit in hekate

You can also partition your drive for easy access on windows. 1 partion l4t Ubuntu other partion Rom storage or other space.
