So, this is a pick-up-and-go Mandarin learning app then? No previous experience with Mandarin is required? [Cuz I don't know jack]

This looks like a nice program for students of Chinese.
The nice part is that it includes pronunciation. I can tell you, learning to read and write is not the hardest part of Chinese, the most difficult is SPEAKING! If you want to learn Mandarin Chinese, master the tones of the words (there are only four, after all) and it will help you much more in the future. 加油!

I lived in China for a few years and my girlfriend of 6 years is Chinese, so I know a little bit of Mandarin, but not nearly as much as I should by now. This seems like a fun way to learn more. Great job on the app

Wow this is a nice app, too bad it is not for me. I'm learning Cantonese Traditional, and they teach Mandarin Simplified... Interesting app, if only it came out when I started learning...

Why are you learning traditional characters? They only really use them in Hong Kong and Taiwan. Plus, simplified is much easier!

Good luck with your studies anyways!

Looked at the description of the Japanese version and I see it has the kanas and romanji, but I don't see anything about practicing Kanji stroke order. Does anyone know if it does?

Nah, JDS is only kana so far. If you want to learn kanji, I'd highly recommend importing Zaidan Kanken. It's all in Japanese, but you can figure stuff out with a little basic knowledge.
