Solar Winds was a kinda fun freeware space-action-adventure game...

Dude.

I played this game waaaay back in the day, loved it, but forgot what it was called. I've been trying to find it again for years. Thank you!

I tested these few games so far :

working (with or without errors)
Day of the Tentacle : demo ok, sound ok (SB16), then opcode. if pass intro : working until Bernard says "Ok We ..." then freeze. A+B to pass the freezed cutscene and the game works fine.
Genesia (intro ok, menu opcode error)
Les voyageurs du temps : opcode then (push B) and works fine ! great

Dune 2 graphics is soooooo small, it's hard to select the infantry. I didn't remember it was like that. humans are like 2 pixels height on 1 pixel wide

Not working (opcode) :
Space crusade : Unsupported opcode.
Are opcode's log useful to improve the compatibility ?

Not working (need 80386)
duke nukem 3D : protected mode needed (386 486)
Descent : protected mode
Little big adventure : protected mode
magic carpet 2 : protected mode

It's totally normal (they use dos4gw), but I wanted to try them anyway.

Would al qadim the genie's curse work? it has about dune 2 graphics no idea about the system reqs though. also does fallout run at all? frame rates not an issue to me

edit: never mind didn't realize how underpowered the ds is

Opcode logs are always helpful

Go to the main gbadev thread to post them. You have to register an account on there to do that of course.

Someone should try the old Kings Quests series if possible. I don't have a flashcart anymore and no way of running homebrew. =/

Gonna try some Ultima games as soon as possible

Ultima6 seems to give "Packed file is corrupt" when starting. Still, the intro works astonishingly well.

Alley cat works wonders, and Colonel's Bequest too.

I am REALLY impressed.

I know about U6 but if you reset DSx86 and run Game.exe directly it should work. Sound is not very good but playable.

Thanks for the tip! Will do.

Yeah, for some strange reason, some BGMs sound strange, while others do not.

Maybe I should send a bug report to the author.

This is really progressing well. But imagine if they released the SDK for DSTWO and he would be able to include the power of the extra processor and stuff for that card.
To possibly emulate an 486. Now the games that would be playable on a 486 on the DS.. just thinking about it is like daydreaming a wet dream
biggrin.gif

I just really hope the supercard team releases the SDK for it, that would pretty much make it the best card ever (even though it's most likely to be the best card as it already is)

would rayman 1 work? it's a game form 1995 but I don't know wich cpu it needs. I see something about 486 33 minimum - pentium recommanded. and later on it says DOS version 5.0 minimum

so, would it work?

edit. I think I missed that post above me ....

this guy has an awesome head start in letting us play games such as Duke 3D on a Nintendo machine... sweet!

Ermm... you CAN ALREADY play Duke Nukem 3D on the Nintendo DS ages ago.....

Check this:
http://gpf.dcemu.co.uk/duke3ds-duke-nukem-...r-ds-80584.html

And this:
http://www.neoflash.com/forum/index.php?topic=3934.0

Tried that yonks ago, and IIRC It doesn't run very well or latest build links are dead, and development has long been abandoned.
