Hacking DS won't read R4

So I just got my R4 after 2 weeks of waiting. Sick. I put everything on it, and go to put it in my DS Lite, and my DS doesn't say there's a game in there. I looked online, and I tried the paper method, but it didn't work for me. Anything else I can do?

here is some stuff to do:
1. blow in the slot
2. check if all the firmware is on it and the sd card works properly
3. make sure you are inserting the card before you turned it on (my cousin did that once)
4. If you have lost all hope return it for another or get a different card

Was the cart tight in the slot? If so, you may need to pull it up out of it's slot some to get proper contact.
(Happens with my M3)
