Misc DS Wifi Backup on AltWfc?

Hi everone,

I'm very new to AltWFC and DS flashcarts in general, so I apologize if this is a rudimentary question.

I've finally gotten my DS to successfully connect to Wifi in Mario Kart, but my goal is to restore my emulator save to my Pokemon Diamond game catridge. The issue is using Rudolph's Wifi Save Manager or the alternative Savemanager for HG/SS, the DS can't find the ftp server running on my desktop. At the same time, Save Game Manager FTPd can't connect to the access point, even though my ds is configured correctly.

I've followed tutorials exactly with editing config files and putting the config and ds files at the root of the drive, but I still can't get the ds to connect to smallftp

Is the wifi backup still possible, or should I just spend the money on the slot 2 3in1?
