Hacking DS Phat top screen repairable?

I came home from the takeaway last night and stepped on my bag, but thought nothing of it.

When I dug out my old DS phat and fired it up later, I saw a nasty big black streak in the screen, so I must have crushed it!

Have seen Nintendo Europe's web site, which mentions nothing of DS phat repairs, or screen repairs.

I am BROKE! And would love to have this fixed if at all possible!

Is there anyone / where in London I could get this sorted out? Really cannot afford to just go and buy a lite, am very fond of this old phat, and also thing its such a waste to junk it...

Any help and useful advice would be much appreciated, cheers!

I know your not that strap for cash but maybe you could save abit up and buy a replacement screen from dealextreme.. I think they sell phat top screens, Not sure though..

Or try ebay and fix it yourself..

Yeah DX sell replacement screens, they are about $7 IIRC. No postage.

I'm not sure, but you may need to do a little bit of soldering with the speakers...

The correct cost is $16.62 and they take about 3 weeks to arrive. Don't worry if you're broke it doesn't cost TOO much.

It's really easy to replace on the Phat, I recently did it myself. IIRC it doesn't require soldering, that only applies to the Lite. Also, the top and bottom screens of the Phat are exchangeable. (Not on the Lite!)

Yeah that's still pretty good

And they have gone down in price already

now they are $15.24

The price varies wildly... (the touch screens have gone down to $3!)
