Hacking DS on Emunand (10.2)

Well, i want to use a R4i 3d (2012) to play ds games on my emunand 10.2U (rxtools), is this possible?
Or if i need to use it on my sysnand (9.2) i will need to update de r4 kernel or buy another flashcard?
