Hacking DS lite shell replacement(need input)

If anyone has actually done a shell replacement before, I would just like to ask, how easy it was to do, as a first time replace-er

if have a good understanding for how things work and you read the guides carefully and watch some youtube videos it should be no problem

there is always a risk
be carefull when you reattach the lower case
the power and the volume switch has to be in the right position

The step-by-step guide here at GBATemp is invaluable, I think.

The only bit I found to be very fiddly was threading the ribbon cable for the top screen through the hinge - the ribbon cable is delicate and it would be easy to damage it if one gets impatient or tries to force it.

For the power and volume switches, I found it was very helpful to use a bit of tape to hold them in place on the lower shell half so they wouldn't wiggle around or come out of position when trying to put it together.
