Hacking DS Lite n00b

Hey guys,

I just picked up a DS Lite and an R4 card from craigslist today. I'm pretty sure it is a genuine R4 card (I watched a couple of videos on how to spot a fake)

I'm new to this scene, and old to others. I am not looking to a step by step walkthough, I just have a couple of questions.

Is there any "beginner" guides for the R4? I'm on firmware 1.18.

Again, I don't expect you to hold my hand through everything, I'm just asking for your opining on some good reading material.

Awesome! I will read through that now. Just as a quick question... do I need to have a specific firmware before updating to Wood?

No just drag it on the sd card it uses the files that are currently on the sd card.

Cool. That's what I did and it seems like everything is working. Thanks guys. That'll buy me some time while read some more.
