Gaming DS Lite firmware questions

Does anybody know where exactly the firmware chip in the DS Lite is located?
Also, a question for the owners of Japanese DS Lites: Are there any differences, no matter how small, between the Japanese firmware and the North American firmware?
Would there be any complications putting a Japanese chip into a North American DS and vice versa?

The firmware is stored in the WiFi module on the DSLite mainboard.

It's good to know that if you ever manage to corrupt the firmware, you could do a hotswap flash using FlashMe and two DS Lite systems, just as you could with flashcarts like the AceKard2i.

To the last two questions - I have absolutely no idea. But hey, 1 out of 3 so far XD

Thanks for the location. I just swapped the chip out and there's absolutely no difference from what I see, and it works just fine.
That's good to know for repairs.
