I bought a DS Lite with a R4 clone (Without knowing there were clones at the time) and a 4GB MicroSD card.
It worked well(as far as a R4 clone can work) until some weeks ago, when it simply stopped working.
Now,when I plug in in, the DS gives me the "Touch the Touch Screen to continue" thing, as if there were no cards on the system.
I already tried:
-Cleaning the contacts(no alcohol)
-Formatting the card and re-intalling the firmware
-The "Paper Piece trick",even though I did it wrong.
Since it's my only DS card thus far,I can't try another game,so there you have it.
So,yeah, There's my problem, any help is welcome
And please, don't respond with "R4 sucks, get an Ace". I really don't care about wich cards you want me to buy.

EDIT: Guess what? My R4 doesn't even have screws on it, so opening it will be a mess

Contact issue, probably.
Try the paper trick, do it right this time. How did you do it wrong anyway?

Uh...I sincerely don't know.
Basically, you put a folded paper along with the card inside the DS,right?
But what I think I did wrong was in wich side should I put it?
The paper needs to touch the "R4" sticker or the back part?

Try putting it between the shell and the PCB like this:

O i see here i had this problem yesterday and my R4 works now.what i did was cut this off here

because it was restirciting my card from contacting. then open you flashcart scoot it down as much as you can and there ya go

So I basically need to butcher my R4? I'll try that as Last Resort, since it'll take some weeks for me to buy a new card

Not butcher just trimm those parts i highlighted above thats what i did and it let my R4 make contact
Edit: I only highlighted the plastic btw

Yeah, the "Butchering" part was just me..being me

Anyways, is a scissor good enough to cut it?

Its much easier ti snip the plastics then open the card and scoot to pcb board down

Ok friend,we got your point already.

Does anyone else have a method that doesn't involve removing pieces of the card with a scissor?

It doesn't seem to have enough room to a piece of paper...
The image miser posted is from My Acekard guide which you can read here http://gbatemp.net/t218103-updated-n00b-gu...cekard#contacts that was was taken using an Acekard 2i. It's only meant for the Acekard 2i because that has a shell which is glued together, and has a much thinner PCB.

This maybe a different shell from yours, which may be why you can't do it.

Because it's an R4, you should be able to unscrew teh shell and do it that way. It's a much better way of doing it. Open up the cart and try reseating the PCB. If that doesn't work, when it's in the cart slow try powering on the DS while pushing down on teh cart. If that doesn't work after inserting the cart try pulling it out slightly (without depressing to eject) and then power on the DS. If taht doesn't work, try putting a piece of paper behind the cart (sticker side) as you insert it into the DS.

Oh,so there's the reason.
The only problem is that the card has no screws, so I need to use a sharp thing to get them separated?

I think here's an image to the back part of it.

Can't say because I haven't seen it. I only have an R4 1:1 and A few Acekards.

On both my R4 and Acekard there are pegs round the edge, I just ran by nail down the side of the cart. You are likely to injure youself if you do it with a knife. The R4 opens easily, but the Acekard is glued and opening it up breaks the pegs. The Acekard still works, but falls apart.
