Gaming DS games like on DSI

From my understanding, the DSi only has a slightly larger screen, but the resolution will NOT be higher. I don't know this for sure, but I believe this is what I heard from somewhere... you know how that goes. It is comparable as to a 17 inch monitor vs a 19 inch monitor, using the same desktop resolution setting. Does that make any sense?

Honestly, if you have a perfectly fine DS Lite, I see NO need to upgrade to a DSi at all. Unless you wanna give away your DS Lite and get a new DS, but keep in mind, if you are using a flash cart, they are currently INCOMPATIBLE as of now. Who knows if they will come up with a way to hack it or make a new flash cart, but to be on the safe side, I would keep the DS Lite. Half a centimeter of additional screen space is not enough to make me want to buy a new DS. And surely Nintendo does not expect every customer that has a DS Lite to get a DSi, so new games should still work for DS Lite.

In my opinion, it's not worth it. The new PSP 3000 also features similar upgrades, such as a bigger screen, but I read that they had been recalled due to video interlacing problems with the "new and improved" screen.

do you guys not know how to use google or just search youtube? -.- anyways for your convenience:

As every1's been saying, the resolution is the same, just the screen is bigger. for you guys who doesn't know what this means, this means that it'll be exactly the same, just that there will be much more black/white spaces near the edges (i'm guessing).

Jesus Christ, how hard is it for people to accept that the DSi is just another DS? You'd prefer not to be able to run new games properly on your DS or DS Lite? Really?

I think people are just annoyed that they expected Nintendo to actually do something instead of adding a camera and making the screen a bit bigger. I see no need for the DSi to exist; they could have left it and the DSLite would have still sold like gangbusters. I'm sure Nintendo just needed to get the DS back in the mouths of the people. Look at us right now; we're feeding the machine.

I propose no more talk about the DS!

Destructo I definitely see where you are coming from and I actually agree with you. Anyone with a DS Lite; no one is forcing you to buy the DSi. No one. So don't. Anyone without a DS Lite, great. You have a camera and some extra screen width. Whoopdi-freaking-do.

Wow, this is the most stupid thread I've read outside the testing area so far on GBATemp. If this thread was an animal, it would be a cow. All the same information has been well digested and chewed on several times during its meandering uselessness.

Seriously, how often are you people going to repeat the same information over and over again?

I already saw that, it didn't help. I also saw tons of other ones too.
No one understands my simple question. I understanded that it was just .25 bigger a long time ago. Before it even came out. I was just wondering if games on the DS games on the DSi looked a bit stretched or that if the edge is just black....
You guys are making a big deal out of nothing -.-.

I'm pretty sure it will be "stretched" out, as it seems pretty pointless to have a bigger screen if the edges are just going to be black empty spaces. I just hope it isn't extra pixely.
