Hi everyone. I'm new to the community and I'm interested in getting a standard DS flash cart for my 3DS XL which is running 9.20. I tried doing a search for any threads on this topic, but I found nothing, so I'm wondering if anyone else has any experience in this?

Thanks for your time!

yeah you can, DStwo is the best in terms of features and have never been permanently blocked by nintendo unlike the R4 cards that have gone through like 12 "revisions"

but now seeing as nintendo appear to have stopped trying to block NDS flashcards, you can get a R4i gold (not the deluxe edition that is designed for 4.x consoles).....something like this http://www.3dsgamerworld.com/r4i-gold-3ds-rts-for-3ds-3ds-xl-2ds-dsi-dsi-xl-p-2.html

should be fine if your not interested in stuff like SNES/GBA emulation, and i doubt nintendo will be blocking any NDS cards as they seem to of given up so it will save money compared to the DStwo

Thanks for your response.

So are you saying that rather than blocking cards themselves, nintendo's efforts have been in trying to block different platforms of software that each flash cart would attempt to play?

no, the last firmware that blocked NDS flashcards was 7.1/7.2 and that was only one flashcard that was promptly unlocked with a update.........blocking NDS cards was simply a cat and mouse game that nintendo seems to of got bored playing, everything will work as intendo on cards that work its just in the past they where blacklisting carts every now and then
