Hacking DS Flashcard for 3DS

Hi guys, I'm looking to get a flashcard just for DS games (I don't really care for GBA or SNES emulation). I have a arm9loaderhax'd New 3DS XL on the latest firmware.

So far it seems like the R4i SDHC is the way to go, but just making sure that I haven't missed anything. Any other recommendations?

The DSTwo has a built-in CPU. So it drains the battery faster. The CPU is used for emulation, but the OP stated he doesn't care about emulation. So the CPU isn't needed. The CPU also makes the flashcart thicker which makes it harder to fit in the slot. The DSTwo costs more than other flashcarts. So the conclusion is to get a cheap R4 card. I believe the R4i Gold RTS is the newest DS games only R4 card.

I just received mine and I can't get it to work. I loaded 1.64 but it boots to a black screen. Can you point me to a tutorial or help me out?

With a blackscreen it could be a few possible things. You don't have the right files on your sd card (try it on a regular ds an see if it works). Or you need a forwarder as I need one to start my dstt. Or the card is allready broken (doom scenario :P )

DSTwo is not the best. One, it uses way more power than the others, even when idling. Two, it's significantly more expensive. Three, if the user's interested in GBA emulation, injection will work just fine. Same for SNES if the user has a New 3DS.

+1. I've been a Supercard user for a long time, but the extra capabilities of the DSTwo are meaningless on a n3ds w/ a9lh & luma3ds. My DSTwo is going back in my DSi and I'm buying an R4i Gold for my n3ds.

Even in an o3DS, GBA injections work just fine, and SNES emulators run decently.

I would seriously not suggest using the DSTWO if you intend on keeping your system portable. The on-board CPU seriously drains your battery life. Not to mention the core features aren't really needed anymore, since ROM injections are just better.
I suggest checking out the R4i Gold (r4ids.cn)

DSTwo is only the best if it's going in a DS/DS Lite/DSi. With the current state of the 3DS, the things that made it good are actually negatives to it now.

The best DS flashcart that is still readily obtainable is any of them that runs Wood firmware. R4i Gold (r4ids.cn) is the one I usually recommend as it is one that I've used myself.
 
acekard2i on the latest kernel works well with my n3dsXL on the 11.1 cfw firmware with Luma and that includes the action replay

I had this reply when I complained to the vendor:

1. Look at your R4 card back gold finger, whether is it clear？ Please clear it again.
2. Set your console year in 2010 or before.
3. format sd card fully with fat32 and unzip this firmware into sd card boot to try again.must be in sd card boot but not in a file.
4. if it still can not work, please use another one sd card to try again. in order to avoid sd card problem.

Please follow above steps to try again, if it still can not work fine, please take a photo of error for us confirm.

This is correct firmware.

My only trouble was the firmware.

No, it is not. Not to mention its CFW is an illegal fork of ReiNand. Breaking the GPL ftw.

Also, it takes way too much power, even when idling.
