Homebrew DS App Studio development for DSi(BASIC or PRO)

I was talking about the method in which you try to attract users into buying a pro version by comparing it with the history of DSGM's marketing.

DSGM does not use object oriented code or programming style, it is still procedural code like your language, however James has recently discovered how to use structures to organize C code and is using a buzzword to make it seem more complex and powerful then it really is. He really does have a habit of screwing up terminology which then gets passed onto the users dooming them when they need help from outside the community.

I am in favor of donations, but since I know that putting a lot of your effort (that you could be playing like the lazy of us) into the developing (counting: programming, debugging, testing, and probably checking for compatibility issues) then you should put a banner or something, but one that does not disturbes the main thing for learning.

I like the donation button idea too. Sincerely I have not tried too much your application, but it seems good quality already for asking a donation.[/indent]

One question I have: does anyone have figure out the memory banks and what-so-ever about the hardware for DSi usage? I would like to use those neat cameras for a DSP application being made by some friends at the MSc. if you implement them I might be asking for them or the usage.

This topic has lit up my desire for learning to program my NDS, thanks for coding the DS App Studio I will be giving a try since PAlib is dying already (no libNDS fan or nothing to start again a flame war).

It's your software, so if you want to sell it then there is nothing wrong with that.

There are some other avenues of revenue as well though. You could make the app free and charge for various types of support. Such as giving priority to certain bug fixes, implementing requested features, or even helping someone figure out how to do a certain thing with their app that they are making.

DS App Studio will soon be able to use the extra memory that the Nintendo DSi gives and you will be able to implement functionality for the camera. The function would be dsitakepicture(string nameofpicture); and then you can use the function drawbackground to view the picture.
