Yes I swear, despite the forum, I'm trying to be serious here.

Simple question for y'all: Do you like Super Saiyan Blue?

Like just now I'm randomly thinking about this, and I'm not digging it, at all... which I find odd and interesting since this design is using Color Theory correctly.
Still, not sure why but this doesn't look good to me.

On the other hand, the OG Super Saiyan is beautifully designed, which is strange considering the Analogous Color scheme.

I'm honestly thinking my perception is being damaged by Nostalgia so I'm here asking if you guys actually find Super Saiyan Blue interesting... I just find it so bad, I'm actually willing to test if I could design Super Saiyan Blue differently.

I haven't watched this cartoon but Dragons don't have balls as the nutsack would be bad for aerodynamics and keeping it inside is not an option either as sperms need a low temperature to stay alive.

When I was a kid I used to edit the super saiyan images and invert the hair color

When you do that, it turns blue

We used to call it super saiyan 5

So I was kinda overjoyed to see my dumb little trick become reality one day

But if you wanna ask is it a dumb idea in general, absolutely

Super introduced 4 new super saiyan hair colors
Red (super Saiyan god)
Blue (SSGSS)
Pink (Goku Black)
Silver (Ultra Instinct)

Pink (Goku Black)

Pink wasn't a SS power up to the z fighters at all, it was exclusively to & from Zamasu which is the supreme kai, and the pink color is a fusion between his god ki and SS Blue, that's why it's in the same range in terms of power, even tho SS Blue is much more versatile and expansive unlike any of the previous SS forms

Silver (Ultra Instinct)

not an SS form/power up. it's a state that has to do with the divine/angels/god something that surpasses any mortal/human power. Goku had only a few instances where it awakened (in the anime) he doesn't know how to initiate it or even stay conscious when it happens, he's nowhere near mastering it..

I know probably you know most of this stuff already, but i just didn't want it to look to the uninitiated like: "oh hey they added like 4 new forms on top of the 4 old forms, what were they thinking??" etc

i like blue. tho sounds to me like you're disliking the animation/the drawing of the character and not just the color of the hair, and in that you're correct. plus the anime didn't look great, the quality of the animation was subpar (sp in the first few episodes/arcs) to what came before from DB/Z and even GT. it did get better towards the end (Tournament of power) which was pretty good all things considered.

Edit: Is it the Dogi though?

the change of style isn't the problem it's the way it's drawn and colored/shaded etc

I fully understand that, but in reality goku black is just a goku reskin, and his rose form is just him with pink hair

I know why they do it, it's to sell toys

the show can explain it away however they want, it's simply adding new hair colors...

I wish they did more with Rose, Goku could combine with a God via potaras. But they rarely did anything with Gokus god form after making its own movie with beereus. They could easily do a plot where it was only goku and someone with God ki. The hair color argument is like comparing someone with a black belt.

Of course every DragonBall plot is the same. Some new threat comes, people talk smack get smacked down. They trained more and come back then villains act super shocked when they get smacked down.
