Hacking Download play help and info needed.

I am looking to buy either the R4 or the new EZ Flash V for my DS Lite.
The only thing that concerns me is Download Play.

The person I play my DSL with will have the same Slot 1 card as me, and the same games on it.
Are there any games that have multiplayer modes only available for download play?

For example, we play the Mini games in New Super Mario Brothers a lot.
Would we be able to do this using an R4 or EZFlash V?

Also I do not want to flash either of our DSLs.

The R4 us currently unable to do download play with NMSB and several other games. Try the DS-X if download play is important to you.

Why would you need download play if you both have the carts? The only game that I have come across that only has download play is Bomberman.

True, and bomberman doesn't even have protected download play either, so you can share bomberman from your R4 for download play anyway.
Another game which has no multicard multiplayer and only download play multiplayer is Mario64 though, but it's multiplayer is bad anyway...

I would definitely pick up a DS-X if it had 1 - 2 GB of space and if it did not have problems with Castlevania POR.
