Maybe on the 31st when my nintendo and miitomo comes out the next fw update will be unleashed officially by nintendo and then if the current stuff IS patched then devs will allow us to have 5.5.0/1 kernal?

EDIT: even with kernal: downgrade may not be possible. I havent seen a 5.4.0 to 5.3.2 downgrader (not that there is much point) but the point is its probably not possible with just kernal?

What's a kernal?

would fucking laugh now if the update just adds a new eshop and nothing else, it would be sad, but funny at the same time, the big N played us :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

5.5.X doesn´t even has kernel, and it still isn't possible to downgrade with just kernel, i think that will be possible with iosu maybe? who knows This guy must be high or something
Even with IOSU you could only downgrade to minor versions (5.x.x -> 5.x.x) because boot1 is updated with each major release, boot0 has a boot1 revision counter in EEPROM and it will halt if it detects b1 is downgraded. You can't just downgrade the rest of FW w/o boot1 either as the ancast keys are different between b1 revisions.
