Hacking Downgrade BOTW

But i don't want to update ^^ I want to stay 1.3.0
DNS block will allow you to play the game on 5.5.1. I have never been told I need to update to 5.5.2 and I'm on update 194. Why do you want a lower update? Haxing? What did they fix that you want broken?

Duplication glitch and some other things like there are a lot of codes that were found on 1.3.0
I was able to play on update 1.3.0 and 1.4.0 without it telling me to update to 1.3.1 or 1.4.1

Why use the duplication glitch when you can just use a save editor instead?

You're going to need to be more specific about what it is you want to be able to do on 1.3.0 that you cannot do on later versions.
I found somewhere a lot of addresses in botw memory that links to visual effects, objects sizes and i would like to make a (fun) video on that

Ok so just do what I said to do twice now in this thread, and multiple times in multiple, identical threads.

so apparently the PC version of Wii U Usb helper lets you pick a game update version to download. in this case you can download the second to last one which will be update 1.4.0 and then you can use @skoolzout1 's updated botw codes. the only caveat being you have to not overwritten your save after 1.4.1 was installed that way you don't break your save when downgrading your update to 1.4.0 and be forced to start over.

That's not the big problem though. If you already updated your game to 1.4.1 and try to delete the update from the system, then try to download and install the older 1.4.0 update to downgrade, the system won't let you play the game until you update to the last update version you had installed.

It's because when you update your game, the version number gets written to a file on the filesystem. When you launch the game, the system checks that file to make sure the version number matches the version your trying to launch. If it doesn't, it will ask you to update the game, and won't let you launch the game.

There is only one way around that, and that is to edit the versions file on the filesystem via FTPeverywhere to match the update version you want to downgrade to.

And yes, if you cannot follow directions Very closely, you can brick your console, since your editing system files.

But other then that, there is no way to downgrade a game version to an older version. It's not as simple as just removing the latest update, and installing the older update. If people would just try to do what they are suggesting other people do, they would know the WiiU doesn't work that way.

I don't know if versions.bin is really necessary cause once i was editing this file and when i wanted to send it back to the console, it froze, so i ended up with a 0 byte filesize. But the Wii U just booted fine and i was able to transfer the file again.

hmmm. perhaps i got this working because i installed update 1.4.0 and dlc 3.0 to another wii u and transferred the save data over then used the dns block to block updates from installing. either way i planned on moving the save data to this other wii u (since i dont own the other wii u and finally have a wii u of my own) and since i never installed 1.4.1 on my own wii u i dont have this problem.

would taking a look at the data in my versions file help?
