On a different note, is it just me, or does anyone else find it a tad annoying that when you go into a shop you have to talk to the person twice in order to bring up the selection menu for buying/etc.?
That one annoys me quite a bit, but the one that really pisses me off is when I'm feeding my animals. You need to take the feed out of the holder, then talk to the feeding stations and you get an Yes/No screen up each time to put the food down.

. So pointless. If the Yes/No screen was remotely speedy then I'd be fine.

lmao, all you have to do is hold your stylus on yourself while holding the food and then drag it to the feeder. automatic throw in the feeder.
Pfft, I'm not playing via touch screen.

its a lot easier without using the buttons. but hey, if you want to keep getting annoyed by it, be my guest.

Sunshine Island still need to use some stylus instead of D-Pad to do some action.

To get to the middle crop without stylus,
try this

Small glitch. Basically you hop over one row of crops and land in another row. NEED SPEED BOOTS!

From row 1, run at an angle towards row 2, with a gap in the middle.

Ex:

xxx xxx
xxb xxx
xxx axx
.....1

1> You
a> crop you need to be lined with
b> crop you're hoping to.

Stand infront of crop a, move diagonally to b and tap B. Takes some pratice!

Can use stylus to go towards upper left corner of the DS.

For using D-PAD try this:
X= one crop
O= targeted crop
- = empty walking row

OXX-XXX
XXX-XXX
XXX-XXX
XXX-XXX
.....^ STAND HERE and tap O with the stylus. you will end up in the middle row and can then run up and down to harvest them, instead of having to use the stylus to harvest each and every one individually.

again, it seems to only work with the speed boots equipped.

yar, you can do the trick with out the stylus, but it seems easier imo to do it with the stylus, then just run up and down using the normal buttons.

If you just wanna to harvest the middle crop:
Try this:

Found another way to harvest the middle crops with stylus and keypad :shock:

xxx
xbxa
xxx

a=you
b=target middle crop

stand at the "a" and hold "left keypad" and tap the target middle crop.It should work.
I dun really know how to explain.Excuse for my bad english

EDIT:This only work for harvesting but not water the crop.

Nah, I play when I'm lying in bed watching a DVD or something. So using the touch screen doesn't work well (tried and failed before).

Oh, and I hate mining in this game. Every time I go there I pass out when I find a hole while trying to mine the ore, and it's not like I'm on low stamina or anything, I just go squish. Is it just bad luck or am I going to have look for the stairs?

Save every floor and if your stamina depletes too much, reload. An easy technique that people seem to overlook.

Anyway, why is everyone complaining about not getting to the center spot? If you work diligently with turnips, you can get the red wonderful and slotted can (I would recommend 2 slots) early. Perhaps after the second harvest. I got it at that point (like spring 9, 10 or so) and the blue one at mid-spring. You just have to work hard.

An early income source I recommend is fishing. Try to get the rod as early on as possible. At 5000, it may seem expensive at the stage, but try your best. I would recommend buying it before spring 19, the sheep festival. The festivals are an opportunity to fish without time. Try to save as many colored grasses for the festivals. You can also eat some of the fish you get. It requires a high fishing level just to get medium, so fish often. If your goal at the start of fishing is increasing fishing level, then do the eating fish trick. If it is profit, then bring colored herbs. Have a large rucksack also. This is also what you will find yourself doing on rainy days. Mining is another but it requires use of accessories and cooked dishes to do well which are difficult to obtain.

Another quality investment is the House Upgrade. This is essential for the kitchen and fridge. The cabinet is not essential but it is useful. The kitchen is useful especially in mining. It allows cooked dishes to be made. So are very simple and are nice to use whenever you need a boost. To get recipes, you must give items to Nick and Haila. You can give them items even before you get the kitchen which is worthwhile as it increases Cooking level and allows you to cook better dishes at the very start. It is not necessarily an edible item that will get a recipe. A small fish will not get any recipes but a medium will. Even a weed is required to get recipes such as one of the items that is an ingredient to one of the best restoratives in the game, Relax Tea Leaves.

Try to befriend all villagers and bachelors/ettes. 5 gifts that are received with a musical notes will allow you to obtain a Sun Stone from that person. The only main villager I know of that will not is Mark/Chelsea. Also, if a household gets 2 hearts, you will get a sun stone from them. For example, in Taro's house. If Taro, Elliot, Natalie, and Felicia are all 2 hearts, you will get a Sun Stone from Taro. This also counts for the Harvest Goddess Spring.

Shipping is essential also. Shipping 100 items of each classification (such as if you ship 100 fish) will get a sun stone. It also works by each classification of seasonal crops, mined items, grains, mushrooms and others.

Just a review for the weather system again in case anyone missed it:

A turnip must have a minimum of 2 water points to grow. This version has it in points. 2 water points for a rainy day (the weather icon with an umbrella open), 1 point for a drizzly day (the weather icon with an umbrella closed), and 1 point for each time you water a crop (up to 2). It's best to always go for the minimum. If it reaches 19 water points, it will die.

The sun points are a little harder. A cloudy day (the icon is obvious) gives 1 sun point. The clear day (a small sun) gives 2 points, and a sunny day (the one with a really big and red sun) gives 3. As the same, it's best to go for minimum. If it reaches maximum, it will die.

I hope I contributed a lot. If you have a question, feel free to ask. I feel like I should make a new thread with all this information.

Water more does not mean grow faster.For some crop that very sensitive to water,like Yam,when you water it for 3times,the crop will drown.Means dun water it too much,like our real life.

yours,
steven
