So, this is my situation in short. My disc icon is missing due to regionhax, my internet browser is bricked and I have no other launch method for homebrew. I have an mk8 disk but I don’t have the icon. Can I somehow use my disc for this exploit:https://github.com/wiiu-env/Mario-Kart-8-Exploit or will I have to purchase a copy from the eshop. Does this exploit still work?

I've never seen someone use this exploit tbh, maybe 'cause it doesn't look as user-friendly as the rest of exploits for Wii U.
What is the behavior of the Web Browser brick?
So I changed the launch images and validated them but they won’t let the browser launch so it gives me an error. I guess system titles have different file sizes :(

afaik, the only way regionhax causes the disc channel to disappear is if you delete your nnid or possibly just user. I've done regionhax too, but I've always used the same user and nnid. I haven't undone it, because I don't want to risk it. I did save the original sys_prod.xml

titles are usually fine, because they're just in the meta.xml.

I mean after I bricked the browser, I had some stupid reaction to factory reset my Wii U. I thought that would work. Now it’s been 6 months and I have a better understanding of the Wii U.

that's what did it then. I'm not sure how to fix this without a hard mod.
Yep hard mod is the only option here. And that's only if the OP was smart enough to make a nand backup. No nand backup then nothing is going to fix the issue.

seems the sys_prod.xml contains serial number, so I don't know what would happen if he used someone else's. he could fix his own with just the otp.bin, and dump the nand during the hard mod. he either needs that or a nand from before the problem started. op , the otp.bin will decrypt the nand for fixing purposes. though, I'd imagine he'd have a nand backup if he has the otp.bin. :P

I can solder, but I’m not good enough. Anyways I don’t have a nand backup because I’m dumb. Can I just buy mk8 from the because it will cost me half the money of buying a new Wii U and the exploit will work?

if it does work, I don't know how you'd do it, because the disc icon is now missing.
The big issue is that to get the disc channel icon back you need to run region hax and set it back to the region of the console. You then need to do a system format. The problem being the OP then bricked their Internet browser. So with no disc channel and no Internet browser there is zero ways to run region hax and set the region back to the systems actual region. And now we don't have the option of a hard mod as the OP never done a nand backup.

I'm afraid there is zero options at the moment to fix this semi-bricked console.

I was wondering if I did it with an eshop title.
