Thanks for the offer. Any big name brand is good. I prefer at least 4 hours of battery and good performance at a good value.

ok, i will have a look.

it didn't take me long, look:

from the review it says it has just over 4 hours of battery life with heavy use.

from amazon:

Countdown to a nVidia Optimus equipped laptop being suggested:

5... 4... 3...

close, but this one has a GT 610M 2GB...

Take the professional version of 7. Other than that, the laptop seems great.

another alternative here:

Which computer are you talking about?

I also found this for $900 at a $100 discount.

Actually that's better than the Vaio Z! @[member='Lastly'], get the one suggested by @[member='jalaneme']!

see, i knew that it was a good laptop, Lastly, just to be sure check out video reviews and stuff like that to get more detailed specs to see if it's the right one for you and good luck with your choice.

not bad, it has 6 hours battery life and 15" screen too, no SSHD though.

The laptop does look nice, but is the graphic card is weaker? The pcmark vantage is lower than the vaio and is more expensive than the Vaio. Although it has more ram and the processor is better. Thank you for you suggestion. I will look into this a little more.

what are you talking about the VAIO has a integrated VIDEO | Intel HD Graphics 3000 1GB? which is very basic, what laptop are you comparing too?

the NVIDIA GeForce 320M/330M is basically what the Intel HD Graphics 3000 is in terms of graphics power, if you want to do stuff like 3D rendering and video editing, you need a good processor mainly anyway.

IIRC the 610 is based on the 510 with a clock increase. On the other hand, the Hd 6650 is a mid-ranged mobile GPU. However these are only half remembered facts and may be wrong. Too tired to check from my iPad.

Also a good proc alone isn't enough for graphics editing and rendering.

Re: @[member='Joe88'], do not avoid HP at all costs, just be wary with them. Not ALL of them are bad, just a higher-than-average proportion. Remember that ALL brands have a 15-25% failure rate in the first 3 years, even Apple. Reviews are everything.

HP sucks dude. Worst reliability for two straight years in PCWorld.

i wouldn't say that, both my current laptop and pc are both hp compaq and i've had them since 2010, still work fine?

at least HP are not like alienware and charge you over the odds for outdated gpu and stuff.
