Hardware Does the wii infrared bar work at 5v ?

Does the red pin at the back of the wii for the infrared bar output 5V ? I do not have any voltmeter :/
If it does, I guess I can just cut the wire, add a usb head and the original head to the wire and plug the bar to my computer for it to work. Am I right ?
