Hardware Do you think we can port Doom on Switch?

yeah its not really that super demanding. a good pc graphics card can kill it FPS wise.

i dont think they'll do it though and im in no excitement/hurry for older titles to be ported over. I'm more interested in NEW upcoming titles being ported over.

It would actually be pretty easy. DOOM runs great in Vulkan and OpenGL, both of which Switch supports. I doubt it'd do 60 FPS, but 1080p30 would almost certainly be achievable.

Because you can take it on the go? Perhaps because not everyone has played the game yet either? You seem to assume your situation is everyone's situation.

Because doom has a legacy of being ported to things it shouldn't be, and it ought to continue with the switch (Plus it's still fun).

doom 3 bfg is out on the shield tablet, maybe we will see a port for the switch in the future

Which one are you referring to? The original DOOM, DOOM 3 or DOOM 4 (2016)? If the devs could downgrade DOOM 4 to run on the Switch it'd be neat or a "DOOM HD Trilogy Collection" for the Nintendo Switch would be even better (getting the classics all-in-one pack).

Im pretty sure it could run Doom without too much downgrading.
A very low specced pc can easily run it at acceptable speeds. (fps whores excluded ofc)

As long as the framerate drops and stuttering isn't too noticeable and distracting it can be acceptable.

It WON'T run android people. Just because a similar chip was used in an android console DOESN'T mean it will use android. I can guarantee Nintendo would not be stupid enough to use an android based OS.

It would be like saying my Windows 10 computer has an amd fx-8350, so all other computers using that CPU would obviously be running windows 10. Which any sane person will realize is not true because there are other versions of windows as well as the multitude of linux operating systems.

Sorry, rather they both seem to have Android-specific implementations vs standard. The results on an Android gaming machine like Shield TV aren't as impressive.

Are you talking about the BFG Edition or the new Doom? If the former, then yes, the weaker Shield Tablet runs it at 1080p60.
