Do you like dating sims?

I've never played a dedicated dating sim game like LovePlus. When I was younger I enjoyed games with dating sim mechanics but now I find them repulsive.

Maybe try thousand arms. It's an rpg for ps1 that has a dating Sim mechanic, though it's not its main focus.

I used to own the game. It's very easy, which may be a turn off.

I have zero interest in playing them for fun and find minigames based on them in other games (they occasionally appear in life sims and RPGs, usually Japanese and European takes) the weaker aspects of those games I have to endure to get to the good stuff. About as close as it gets to something worth considering is stuff like Crusader Kings where you can minmax stats for descendants, go for easier life/allow you to focus on other things and start affairs as diplomatic leverage.

However indulging in my hobby of amateur anthropology then the whole scene of them is fascinating, even if I am not generally inclined to touch anybody that participates heavily.

Some might say my at best ambivalence towards such things is reflective of me as a person... it is a solid bet to take.

If it's a small part of a game, and it's only non-consequential and separate from the main story, then i wouldn't mind it.. but i don't want it to be the main focus of a game.

Does 'my time at portia' count? It has a mechanic... I guess it's dating, but it's more a'bribe others to be your friends' minigame. Heck... I've gotten more relationally related to the mayor by showering him in coffee tables than my date. But ey.. Fun game.

I've played one or two 'undress the ladies' games, but... Erm... Let's say it's no match for my daily dose of porn. I also don't get the point: women don't behave like that, and the protagonist(a sex depraved dork) is always completely unrelatable as well.

Okay, and I'm a bdsm lifestyler. I wouldn't date a vanilla girl any more than i would date a man, and my demographic... It isn't so much under represented (though it is that) as showered in cliches

Several of my mates though got divorced, cost them a fortune, are no longer available for coming out to play (at least until the divorces happen), found out their kids were not their kids, became crushed by nagging harpies and otherwise had serious negative outcomes. That might even be the majority at this point -- risking £200k on a coin flip at best seems a really silly idea.

To be fair, life's not an easy not a fair game, but it's popular regardless. Probably considering the alternative.

To continue the meta: there's more to it than flipping a coin, but it takes involvement, using walkthroughs, proper equipment and not expecting it goes smoothly at any point.

Otherwise said: as a spectator of might seem random why one person wins and another loses a fight in dark souls but that doesn't make it random. It's just that the patterns are harder in real life.

I've never actually tried that genre, though I do remember Persona 3 FES having such elements. Catherine is another game I played that kinda fits the bill, I suppose...
