This is probably the dumbest question I'll ever ask, but do VC Injections corrupt data? I was playing Mario Land (which I got off the eshop a few years ago) and it just blipped me back to the title screen randomly. I also noticed the HUD at the top of the screen glitching out very, very slightly. Is this normal?

Copy everything off your card, reformat it in FAT32 + 32 KB cluster size, and full Write + Verify test that card with H2testw. You need to rule out that your card isn't fake or bad if your game saves are randomly corrupting. Also, start backing up your saves + extdata with Checkpoint or JKSM and offloading them over to your computer. If your Virtual Console games can be substituted with homebrew emulators, use those with their save state features.

Well my saves haven't been randomly corrupting, I was wondering if VC Injections could cause corruptions. Also I realized that the Hud glitching out in Mario Land is just sprite flickering, something thats just part of the game itself. Still have no idea why it blipped me back to the title screen that one time though.

But thank you for letting me know what to do in case things do start corrupting!

You might have found out a genuine bug in the game (or the emulator) - Mario Land 1 should have no bankswitching, meaning all it takes to cleanly reset the game at any time is a jump to the start of the rom, or possibly (don't have a disassembly handy) to a relatively wide choice of addresses near the start (as seen in gen 1 Pokemon's "crash with vertical stripes")

Your probably right. I haven't had any problems since, the sprite flickering is just a part of the game (going off multiple youtube videos, anyway), and I doubt there would be tutorials if it did cause corruption. Thank you!
