Hacking do i need a bigger SD card for 3ds?

ok so i just brought a gateway card along with a 32gb sd mini for my 3ds running 9.2
but i only have 4gb for sd card in the 3ds itself. do i need a bigger sd for that too? like for emunand and cia install?

anyone? i would like to know by the end of sunday so that i can order a card if necessary. also i did a nand backup with the browser exploit and it takes a little under a gig (954mb) but i barely have anything installed on my 3ds idk on how much these cia files will take or if i even need any.

i had the same problem so i simply swapped
8 gb in gateway
32 in 3DS
i'll use more cia

I think you should be fine with a 4gb SD card, assuming you don't use CIAs. I also have a 4GB SD card, and I've already downgraded and set up emunand without running into problems. You don't need to use CIA to play games. You can play roms by putting .3dz files on the microsd card that goes into the red/white GW card (and you have 32 GB, lots of room)

If you discover you want more room u can always upgrade to a larger SD card

well im a noob in this new methods, which is better putting my .3ds backups in the gateway card or converting my backups into cia for installation on my emunand?

i see, mainly cia files are eshop backups right?

4 GB is fine, Just put ur 3ds roms on the gateway micro sd and your emunand will be stored on your 3ds SD, you will not have room to install cia's to your emunand however, but there is no disadvantage there.

ok so from what i see i cia files are like wad files on the wii pretty much titles or apps. and i should be ok with 4gb. got it ill stick with the 4gb for now thanks guys

you're fine with the 4GB but if you are wanting to install a ton of .cia files I would recommend getting a larger SD.

Exactly. It's a matter of personal preference really.

The Gateway multirom menu can be a bit slow and clunky. Installing games means they're all quickly and easily accessible on boot.

One format isn't really advantageous over the other. Even if you prefer to install your games, you still need to the Gateway card in upon booting.

.cia installation takes too much time for me B-)
btw you can always take the micro sd and put it in a sd adapter for lots of cia files B-)
