Hey guys! I ot my boys a Wii U for christmas and i'm looking to use the homebrew on it, i get most steps no problem but the dns blocking part cause me issues right now. The console is located far from my internet provider modem and router so i have to use wifi on it. Most tuorials i saw on the subject used wired connections, and when i manually enter provided dns adresses in the wii u i can't get a positive connection test :( . Is there a way to make it work under wifi ?

I've tried those 2 dns so far:

    Primary DNS to: 52.40.86.243
    Secondary DNS to: 000.000.000.000

    &

    Primary DNS to: 107.211.140.065
    Secondary DNS to: 000.000.000.000

    Thanks

    Chris

Kept researshing and saw that dns's might be down, if so, what kinda risks i'll take if i skip the update prevention step and There's an available update ? Hackability or brick ?
I apoligize in advance 4 asking so many questions but i'm really late when it come to wii u hacks since i just got it. I've hacked a wii before no problem, but the wii u got tons of different hacks to choose from with time & it's getting pretty confusing lol. My best guess right now is softmod/browser homebrew access since it seems like the safest way. But then theres some threads stating that Nand hacks ''more risky i guess'' dont require title tickets ''if true it gets less risky in case i add a wrong region title that were misslabled ''. I'm now really lost folks !!! LOL . Can someone guide me in the right direction here !?! As for right now, which is the best/safest way/hack available? Easiest one to use titles with also?
Also, There's only 2 games i own/play online really, i need a hack that won't block me from playing those legit titles online, if possible lol.
I'm the kinda guy looks at multiple sources before i mess with a console, want to do it right, but the more i research, more i find different ways/hacks available.
What seemed a pretty easy task just got so complicated

    Thanks

    Chris

Block these addresses in your router
    • nus.c.shop.nintendowifi.net
    • nus.cdn.c.shop.nintendowifi.net
    • nus.cdn.shop.wii.com
    • nus.cdn.wup.shop.nintendo.net
    • nus.wup.shop.nintendo.net
    • c.shop.nintendowifi.net
    • cbvc.cdn.nintendo.net
    • cbvc.nintendo.net
And you won't have to worry about messing with the dns.

As far as your best option for hacking. You don't need signature patching unless you want to download illegitimate dlc.

And there is no risk for installing games with the wrong keys, they will just be unusable. You have to really try hard to brick the wiiu.

    Follow this guide http://gbatemp.net/threads/building-iosuhax-on-windows.447023/

And use Fix94's branch. It will allow you to get signature patches on sysnand. You will just have to run the exploit online everytime you start your console.

If after that you still want to mess around, you can install haxchi for a persistent hack.

Easiest hassle free method. CBHC -> sigpatched sysNAND.

If you're afraid of a brick then don't be messing with homebrew... at all!

Its not about being afraid, its all about consciousness ... trying to get the best/less risky way around... compared to the wii the wii u has so many hack options to begin with.. lots are outdated ... as a new owner it aint easy to figure it out. I appreciate your will trying ''somewhat'' to guide me.. but CBHC -> sigpatched sysNAND is quite vague to me tbh lol... If u think you have a better suggestion then others.. pls explain !!

BTW: I'm not looking for a 100% safe way to do it.. it's always a risk and i'm willing to take it.. but being new @ the wii U hack scene i'm not looking to take a dumb guess on the 1xx options out there without doing my homeworks thats all.
    Thanks

    Chris

Well I'm not going to type out the whole process for ya. I gave you the suggestion of using CBHC. Now go research that. I follow the forums here everyday. That's about as simple as it gets.

Find the CBHC thread. That will tell you that you need haxchi first so research that thread.

    1. Get HaxChi working
    2. Setup CBHC
    3. ?
    4. Profit

I am taking the approach of not trying to do to much all at once. Setup Haxchi on the WiiU side and used it for a few days. All was good. Set up vWii, all was good. Read and understood a bit more then decided to setup CBHC. All good.

Am now going to look at saveiine and hbl2hbc.
