Hacking DMS drive. Bridge only J1?

Ok, only a few more friends to go now.
One of them has a DMS drive chip.
D2Sun 1.3A diagram says to only bridge J1.
So does that mean nothing else has to be bridged? Like set it to USA or anything?
No solder on anything except the J1 contacts?

I think you answered your own question. You solder either J1/J2 depending on what region console you put the chip INTO. I think you leave none soldered, or solder both for one of the regions. USA/JPN/PAL

That is why I am confused.
In the diagram it says J1 only. Nothing about different J jumpers for other regions. Does the single J1 jumper bridge work for ALL regions then? Do I have to solder anything else to be region-specific?
DMS is supposed to be the easiest to mod, why is it hurting me so much. I meant to say my friend is hurting me.
