Hacking DML Question

So, I recently bought a wii and got it hacked, and three days ago, I installed DML and started playing GC games on my wii, I tested the games that support NoDisc (Super Mario Sunshine, Luigi's Mansion ...) so I was wondering can I play a GC game that doesn't support NoDisc on my wii (Wii which doesn't support DVDs, DVDX)? Is it okay if I use an empty CD instead of an original wii game?

i believe as long as a disc is in the slot it should work, its just a means to tell the wii the disc slot is closed
