Hacking DLC question

So after all the information I read am I right in saying that the Wii U loadiine does not read dlcthat you bought? If this is right is there way to install dlc or no? (maybe downloading it separately like the 3ds another cia just an example)

Also are you able to update games to the latest version?

As far as I know, it is not possible yet. Your best bet is to grab a disc only copy of smash from ebay or something for cheap. As for updating to latest version, use NUS Grabber and WUP Installer.
