The thing is I've always been wondering if people dumped the game they bought into cia format and then upload it on that iso site or anywhere else why don't they just decrypt the title key for freeshop and ciangel
Now my question is since the uploader isn't willing to do so, can I download the cia and dump the decrypted title key to the database? Are they modified in any circumstances like firmware spoof/region free/cryptofix?

The title key site relies on eShop content for the title keys, different from cart dumps.

Well I was referring Japanese eshop games, the title key database has a lot of good games missing, and I thought some cia games are also dumped from eshop downloads?

Well most of them are still on eshop, but I guess the biggest thing is no one can tell whether the original uploader got the source via cart or digital, thanks for the reply

Yeah I've just read it's inside the ticket, I somehow didn't figure out maybe owners of certain games mostly have cartridges and people who own the digital versions are just unwilling to dump it, ignore the second part of the OP

well it depends, the titlekey may be in the CIA if they used a normal via dumping tool like funkycia/cdn-fx, you could try by installing them then dumping the keys yourself and seeing if you can redownload the game via cdn-fx, while sure most probably will just be cart dumps, it may be worth checking as I assume some people just upload to that iso site etc exclusively to be able to get ad revenue so they dont add the key to the key site

ps the first question isn't possible unless the CIA originated from the eshop and hasn't been repacked with the older tools that gave the game a random titlekey, but carts never have the titlekey to begin with

Title keys are contained in the CIA file. That's why installing a CIA also installs the ticket which contains a title key. If a game was dumped from a cart however, there is no title key on a cart, meaning a random one is made that would not be of any use on FreeShop. Should the CIA actually be one they dumped from an eShop digital copy using a recent version of Decrypt9WIP though, it would contain a legitimate title key. However the only way to tell is to decrypt the title key and then use the decrypted key to try and decrypt that game's TMD file to verify it. A script like PlaiCDN can check if a title key is valid or not.

    EDIT: Ninja'd

I checked 3dsbrew and it says tickets are in cia files, so if these conditions meet a downloaded cia from random places can be distributed to the database?
1.original dump was an eshop game
2.Using newer tools that doesn't random generate a title key when dumping/decrypting
And the way to check it is actually install the cia and dump the key for testing

yeah, once you confirm the CIA file uses the proper eshop titlekey the key site has an option to upload the key, they will take a Lil while to be added as I think they are verified by them too before added to the db

Correct, they only accept the decrypted key and they check it using a similar script to PlaiCDN to get the meta data and verify it's a legit key, then they encrypt it and add it to the site where apps like FreeShop will pick it up.
