The Walt Disney Studios and Paramount Pictures have reached a distribution and marketing agreement for the Indiana Jones franchise.

Under the arrangement, Disney gains distribution and marketing rights to future films, in addition to retaining the ownership rights it secured when it acquired Lucasfilm.

Indy 4 wasn't bad. Can't say Indy 4 was bad and give Indy 2 and 3 a free pass.

It really does look like Disney is trying to buy up as many IP's as it can get its hands on

You kinda can if you have grounds to say so. Indy 1, 2 and 3 were based on the 1930'ties action adventure serials... while Indy 4 was based on 1950'ties B-Movie Sci-Fi flicks fused with the previous idea. It was an experiment that some people may like and others may not, the premise is very different.

Off Topic: Just a friendly correction. 1930's instead of 1930'ties :)

On Topic: I don't think it has to be a bad thing that Disney has bought it... And I have to say I liked the adventure / mystery theme of 1, 2 and 3, rather than the sci-fi theme of 4.

Indy 2 (Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom) was freaky; I'm glad one and three were, well, regular. And I saw the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and really liked it. Speaking of which, I still need to buy that one. (Also thinking of picking up Lego Indiana Jones 2  ) But anyway; why the hell is Disney buying out LucasFilms? And they couldn't make another Indy film anyway since Harrison is way too old. It's been almost a decade since the last Indy movie. And, um, not to sound picky or anything, but they really can't replace him. Just like they can't (successfully) replace Christopher Reeve with someone else. It's called fanboyism (I swear I've heard this somewhere before...)
Indiana Jones primetime drama coming to ABC fall 2015, starring someone who's not really a good fit for the role but the show'll last 5+ seasons regardless.
Nooooo, are you fkcing serious? noooooooooooooooooooooo.....................

Is it a hipster thing to like Indy 4 now?

Because that movie was really shit. Not that Temple of Doom is great but Raiders of the Lost Ark is like one of the best films ever made and Last Crusade is a pretty great movie as well.

If I'm a hipster, then yes. And everyone thinks Temple of Doom is creepy; there is seriously something wrong with the person who does like it.

It's not really the creepiness that kills Temple of Doom. It's just a combination of being a bit too silly and also having a godawful sidekick (not Short Round but Willie). It just doesn't really recapture the feeling of Raiders.

An even friendlier correction: 1930s doesn't require an apostrophe. It's like saying "thirties", but using actual numbers to convey it. You just have to think of it this way: would you say thirtie's, or thirties?

On topic: Good god Indy 4 was a bad movie, and shame on you if you think it's good. The world doesn't collectively shit on something because, you know, it's okay and just a little bit different.

I meant in terms of people complaining that the movie is so unbelievable, like the nuke/fridge.

But yet go back and look at the older movies, they're just as ridiculous, but that's what makes them awesome. I love Indie 4, if anything, I would put my order in Indie 1, 2 , 4, 3.

    @SylverReZ, cuz of lag?
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, No. Whenever you use the internet on Windows, Microsoft collects personal data and installs bloatware that isn't necessarily needed, such as Edge.

I recall @impeeza mentioned some trick about not having bloatware when installing windows where you set up your country to "world" or smh like that

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Yes, you can debloat the operating system, but in some cases for me it just reinstalls them.

@Xdqwerty yes, when you are installing Windows on the first steps you are asked for your current location, you MUST to select «international» so no bloatware is installed, because the bloatware is location based. if this night I have some time I will setup a VM and take screenshots.
