Is there a problem with homebrew and not being able to read discs (I have the Trunca bug and cios's installed)? I'm not entirely sure what's causing the problem, and if there isn't some common thing you guys know, I'll just have to figure it out myself. Thanks.

Can the Wii actually detect that there is a disc in the system? As in, does the Wii Disc Channel say "Disc Cannot be Read"?

If so, you might either have a dead drive or a bad connection.

Is you Wii capable of reading burned discs?
If so, are you booting your apps from a forwarder channel?
What app are you trying to boot?

More info is needed here.

Yes this is what it says. I don'tthink it's a bad drive because I'm having other problems. For instance, StartPatch 4.1 starts with error -1029. Things like AnyTitleDeleter and WAD Manager throw other errors, but I can't check what they are now.

Did you install any other shit without knowing whatn you were doing?
Do you have a trucha bugged ios installed?
WHY are you using startpatch?

To get you an up to date / clean softmodded Wii I recommend using Modmii.
http://modmii.googlecode.com/files/ModMii%20Installer.exe

Follow the onscreen intructions and choose the first option ( aka. rehack your Wii )
Pretend your Wii is'nt hacked yest and follow the generated guide ( TXT file )

Let us know how it went.
odmii rewuires a Windows based PC and is completely safe.
Be sure to follow the instructions onscreen and in the genrarted guide txt.file
Loose startpatch and use Priiloader 0.7 instead.

Thanks for this. I hacked my Wii so long ago that I think StartPatch was the only option (at least the only one I could find) to stop updates from the disc channel. So, a lot of my hacks aren't up to date.
