I think this proves speed is not important. Only the quality of the media is!

It really depends on your burner (and possibly your computer depending on its age.) Some burners get clumsy at higher speeds. I've burned Wii games at 2x, 4x, and 8x with no resulting difference other than the time it took. However, my old computer used to have a 50/50 chance of success when burning any DVD over 4x.
