Dios Mios USB Simple Guide

As I have experienced reading the Dios Mios guide, it has missed out a few points which are important to it

As most people know you would download the dios mios wad from the main page and install it with something like Wadmanager 1.7

Installing Dios Mios 2.0 Wad

To install the wad you need to use Wadmanager 1.7 or any wad mananger which is best for you. When you install I reccomend that you uninstall Dios Mios Lite to make it a clean install rather than install over it. All you need to do then is select the Dios Mios wad file and install it. With that done its ready to use

Now for setting up the USB Drive

The Parition which is FAT32 must be the Active Primary parition on the hard drive because it needs to boot from it, using a parition mananger you should be able to rearrange the paritions hopefully
The Games need to be in a folder called Games or games on the root of the USB and must be extracted by using DiscEx (This can be found on the Dios Mios website) or
c204.gif
Cleanrip (Whichever tool is best for you works too).
Ii have found to be easier to do. (ISO'S will not work if they are just stuck in that folder, they must be extracted and kept in seperate folders)

It is important for it to be USB1: which is silly because no one says about it but this is important to know if it was not USB1: (As in the first partition)

I hope this helps you set it up and get it working easier.

Q: Why isnt it working on my USB Loader GX?
A: The latest USB Loader GX will only work with Dios Mios Lite still but if you download the latest beta it will work so long as the custom path is set up by going into the Custom Paths option of the Settings.

USB GC Path must be USB1:\\Games\ (if you select a folder inside the games folder it will only show that game rather than every one it is important to open the games folder though and select OK when inside it as this will be the root section where gamecube games are stored

Latest USB Loaders which work with Dios Mios 2.0 can be found by searching on Google or the forum

I know this out of having the issue myself and think this is important for anyone to know because it really helps with saving time and questions.

Try to launch the game with another loader first to know if your issue is the loader or your setup.

Try with DIOS MIOS Booter.
It's an easy loader, with only a list of games and the options.

If it doesn't work, try to update your BC to version 6 (it's maybe still v4)

If it still shutdown the console, it's probably an issue with your hardware. Try another USB device, or try with DIOS MIOS Lite and SD card to see if the issue is really your USB device or your console's setup.

Hi, first time poster, long time reader.

I have the same problem as http://gbatemp.net/threads/dios-mios-usb-simple-guide.330696/page-2#post-4772475
I have tested with 4 different usbs and always black screen, with any loader.

Quoting you, Cyan I'll answer the questions you made:

Which version of everything did you use?
- DIOS MIOS or DIOS MIOS Lite? Which version? MIOS v10 (DIOS MIOS 2.6.1+)
- Which USBLoader ? Which version ? USB Loader GX, DIOS MIOS Loader
- Which BC version ? BC v6
- Games are in which format? I used DiscEx without any extra parameter.

Here you got my syscheck (in spanish) if you want to read it. http://pastebin.com/ffGWNiZi

Hello,

Try with DIOS MIOS Lite (2.10) and SD card, to see if your issue is the ISO, your settings, your loaders, or your hardware.
If DIOS MIOS Lite + SD card work, the issue is your hardware (HDD), and you can focus on finding how to fix it (probably replacing it).

If DML/SD doesn't work, then it's an issue with your software/settings side.
But if you only get a black screen without the slash screen, it's usually a symptom of incompatible HDD.

Hey there, I have been viewing and doing a lot of modifications to my wii for so long, but one problem seems to persist in the current one I'm using. The whole set up works find, but when I try to use Gamecube Games, something very odd happens that I can't find a solution for. They always load slightly off screen. I tried researching the problem to no avail. I am currently using Configurable USB loader, the current and latest version. I have the latest version of Dios Mios yet I still have both the off centered screen problem, and sometimes (especially when loading things like minigames) the games will crash. I just don't know what's going on.

# CFG USB Loader 70r65

IOS:

IOS222 Base: 38 Hermes v55.1 (r65535)
IOS223 Base: 37 Hermes v55.1 (r65535)
IOS224 Base: 57 Hermes v55.1 (r65535)
IOS245 Base: 37 d2x v10beta52 (r21010)
IOS246 Base: 38 d2x v10beta52 (r21010)
IOS247 Base: 53 d2x v10beta52 (r21010)
IOS248 Base: 55 d2x v10beta52 (r21010)
IOS249 Base: 56 d2x v10beta52 (r21010)
IOS250 Base: 57 d2x v10beta52 (r21010)
IOS251 Base: 58 d2x v10beta52 (r21010)

I went to the debug section of the USB loader to try and look for any info, I gave me my ISOs but I couldn't find much else, it just says that my Dios Mios is version 2.2+

Thank you so much in advanced, and sorry for the odd request.

It is important for it to be USB1: which is silly because no one says about it but this is important to know if it was not USB1:(As in the first partition)

USB GC Path must be USB1:\\Games\ (if you select a folder inside the games folder it will only show that game rather than every one it is important to open the games folder though and select OK when inside it as this will be the root section where gamecube games are stored.

Question: I set up my HDD with one partition, fat32 and 32kb clusters. But when I plug it into the wii and try to set the file paths, all the stored games show up in usb2 not usb1. Did I perhaps format the hdd incorrectly? The games all show up (gamecube included) but I can't play any of the gc games because usb loader says they are not set on a primary partition. Now if I switch to usb1, only the wii games show up, and are playable. But the gc games don't appear. Any ideas?

I already have figured out how to run gc games trough dios mios (usb).
-My Flashdrive(sandisk 8gb) runs perfectly the compatible gc games.

BUT, i want run then on my HDD(seagate500gb)

I have read that have some to do with the sector size, so, what i dont know is: I can change this? Format in a different way, change the sector size of the hdd, or something? I think not, cause i have formated the pendrive same way than the hdd, and int he first i have success, but the second...A print for information of my hdd from EASEUS:

I don't see where Easeus is reported the sector size.
The options you displayed are for the partition, not the drive.

The sector size can't be changed, it's a physical size of the plates inside your hard drive.
DIOS MIOS requires 512bytes per sector.

New drives started being manufactured with bigger size (to increase max HDD size above 2TB), but as a result of modifying the way they manufacture drives they are also using this new size for smaller drives.
Your best chance to find a 512byte/sector drive is to find an old one.
