Crap. I should've just posted here. Can anyone help me with this?

Edit: I readded the games with 64 (still optimized, otherwise you can't choose) and this time I didn't skip those xNEEK files, although you only need them in some cases, if I understood correctly. I still get the same error. One note: I do not have my GC controller with me today. (Tomorrow I will.) If that isn't it, I'm still at a loss. Could it be the fact that I made it FAT32 with 64 through Windows Explorer?
Per the wiki:

I get "Fatal error apploader size is zero!" This means DM was unable to mount the selected ISO for whatever reason. Verify that your dump is ok, just google for the md5 hash. Try to install the game again (delete the old folder before) Your loader is using an incorrect config version

First off try 1:1 Iso's first then if it works check the compatibility list to ensure the game works compressed (optimize), yiu can leave that setting as "Auto".

If all else fails try a different dump, if u have the game disc use cleanrip 1.0.5 to dump the game. And verify your dumps with redump.org please ;) Cleanrip will d/load the dat files for u and verify the dump if u want.

I love this thing! DLed melee, twilight princess, and tales of symphonia. First one is for competitive purposes (still learning), and last 2 because I never finished them when I had physical copies. BTW does anybody know if I can find a way to save without a GC memory card? I REALLY wanna play these games, and I don't feel like blowing $10 for an old console.

Try with NMM feature on, but make sure u take a look at the official compatibility list to see if your games are supported.

Ahh so I want this one with USB 2.0? Ok. Will it still work on PC?
I'd figure any drive SHOULD work on a PC. Even with DIOS-MIOS some USB3.0 drives work fine while others don't (and there are also some 2.0 drives that don't work so either way it's just taking your chances ... but I'd say MOST drives seem to work. Incompatible ones are the exception either way.)

.

I started getting this error out of the blue. I reformatted my hard drive thanks to some file corruption or such and went through normal FAT32, ensuring 32k cluster size and so on, copying exact same files I had and loader is same I used successfully the most; CFG USBloader, I always try to update and I tried downgrading. I have Dios Mios 2.8 and 2.6 wads what BOTH now give this error though I have booted games in past successfully with 2.6 and older troubleshooting this now is annoying as all hell. I ended up formatting my hard drive again losing some hundreds of gigs of backups I keep there, nothing that I still do not have intact on my machine but after two formats and the problem still is not gone, it really annoys me to no avail...
the ISO's mostly are cleaned/optimized conversions and 1:1 copies of what I used before and my Wii games are working from newly formatted drive so this is ... DRIVING me quite crazy.

So it's kind of a gamble. Man that sucks.

Yeah, it's good you're at least asking to see if anyone else has had trouble with those specific drives but, unfortunately, unless someone says that the EXACT model you choose worked for them there's really no way of knowing for sure without trying it. The cases of a bad drive choice seem to be rare but it's still hard to predict.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002QEBMB4 , i currently use this drive and so does my brother with DM(L) works perfect make sure you buy the 2.0 usb like this that i linked you too.
I have tested the 1Tb 1.5 Tb and the 2Tb 2.0 elements they work great with DM(L)

Hmmm.. I was trying to avoid getting something too big that needed its own power. Definitely on my list of maybes. Someone with good organization skills should compile a list of working HDDs. Thanks so much for the suggestion.

I have had issues with usb 3.0 - http://www.wdc.com/en/products/products.aspx?id=420 this is the one I have and it works fine
My question to you is, which drive gave you trouble with 3.0? The one I linked to or another and you're just assuming 3.0 is a problem?

The reason I went with My Passport: http://gbatemp.net/threads/dios-mios-lite.329342/page-200#post-4577460

Figured 1TB and 2TB would be about the same in terms of this.

After third reformat with different formatting tool (again) My DM booting with my hard drive has not come back. I cannot test with other drives since, I do not have other drives, and I am not giving this up easily but these illogical computer problems are the most frustrating ones. The drive is formatted right, the games are formatted and set right on the hard drive. I have played the same games out of same hard drive before. Why is it not working anymore?

So frustrating... These "it should work" ones...

have you tried dios mios booter maybe somethings messed up in your loaders config just a stab in the dark also you might try rebuilding your MBR on your hard drive I had some problems and this fixed them good luck

Try uninstalling DM using the same WAD you installed, if you get an error it's a clue that something is wrong. If all goes well install a clean BCv6, re-install MIOS then make a NAND backup or make sure you have a recent NAND backup and use Tidiiup. Making a NAND backup is not optional, if you don't want to clear up your useless tickets/IOS folders then just go ahead and re-install the DM WAD after you're done re-installing MIOS. Report back on results.

I can try that I guess, does not hurt. I did not do this before but then again all is not probably right in my hard drive.
... And THANKS, I think that did the thing, this and/or me reformatting the hard drive into smaller partition than 250 gigs. Now I can probably reinstall 2.8 and it for all probability works.

I have already uninstalled/installed BC/Installed Clean MIOS/Install older version of DIOS MIOS about 5times. I went as far back as 2.3but it seems they all now have the problem. So it probably is my hard drive. I have not even once gotten error when uninstalling DIOS MIOS from it's wad.
Speaking of NAND backups... I think I lost the one I made when I first softmodded wii in a internal HDD reformat thing I did recently and forgot to take the NAND backup I had... Then again it is not recent at all.
Well, I am glad things are not that bad as of yet, as I fixed the problem now, but I guess I need to get around making that NAND backup...

Well great I'm glad to hear all is well again. When DM works.. it saves lives :grog:

Now don't forget to do a NAND backup in all the glorious "it's working again" excitement ;)
