I believe he said the same thing he wrote in EnglishPlease only use english here, what you say can help everyone too.
I've used many drives since I've modded many many wii's and I've had the best luck with drives that are usb2.0 Seagate and WD. However some that are 3.0 backward compatible seem to have started to work better.
IMHO keep your receipt and if the drive doesn't work return it and get another one. Just tell them it doesn't work with your device but it's not faulty or that u just didn't like it. The reason shouldn't matter as long as u have the receipt you should get what U want. When u find one that works let us know what it was.

REALLY?!! They won't accept it? I've dealt with CompUSA, Office Depot, HHGreg & Radio Shack, they've accepted my returns. Hope it all goes well for ya and if you have to be a dick man do it, tell em' I want to speak with your regional f'kin manager if I have to lol, but really they shouldn't be giving you a hard timeI've used many drives since I've modded many many wii's and I've had the best luck with drives that are usb2.0 Seagate and WD. Thanks I'll see if I can find a Seagate one, but I hope other users share what worked for them as well just in case, I really think there should be a list for hard drives that work for DM and if they go to sleep mode or not, the compatibility here is much worse than the SD!
As for keeping the receipt and returning it, I don't think that'll work, I tried that before and they refused to return it once it was open, I don't think any mall here accepts returning hard drives after being unpacked, but I can try again!

Yea mine are about 2 years old and they work well, I got fairly lucky I guess, I still think your beat bet is to buy from somewhere you can return the merchandise easily.I'm using two Seagate Free Agent Go (250 and 320), and they both have the same problem: Providing different PID/VID randomly, one of them not being compatible with DM.
So I don't know if it's related to the Firmware version of the device.
Maybe newer drives are better, mine are ~4-5 years old, with the Sleep time disabled using the provided software.

wasnt the hdd sleep thing already solved? i mean i had that problem a long time ago and one of the updates fixed it.I'd take that over working every time but going to sleep mode actually, it's a pain to have to install DML and copy the game to the SD every time I wanna play games like Resident Evil where it has no music most of the time or games like Crazy Taxi and Super Monkey Ball with audio stream, it's as if I'm back to using DML again!

the problem was fixed on SOME drives. Others still go to sleep, wasn't the hdd sleep thing already solved? i mean i had that problem a long time ago and one of the updates fixed it.

I don't know how to do that, I buy normal external hard drives off the mall, the simple ones, I'm no expert in hardware stuff!
