Hacking Dios mios install help

Hi all,

I have a wii which has dios mios on it.
I just downloaded a newer version and was wondering if I use multi mod manager and install the new version over the top will that be ok?
I read about mios v10 if retail discs don't work but just wanted to be 100% sure before I do it.
