Hacking Dead disc drive after softmod

Hi guys, is it possible that softmodding my wii to 4.1e could have rendered my disc drive dead?
I have no sound from it when I try to insert a disc, everything else on the console works perfectly.

thanks for looking, well my unmodded console had 3.1e so i used 3.0 to 4.1 bannerbomb. Because wiimod only works on 3.2 upwards, i used MMM. All the wads and priiloader installed fine.
the trouble is I didn't check the disc drive before modding, schoolboy error

SOLVED: After taking apart the Wii, the power cable had come loose to the disc drive.
