Why even go through the hassle of trying to patch this to English? This all seems like one big headache that has an easy solution.

I just take a photo of the menu texts on my iPhone, select the text and the phone translates it. Smartphones are pretty smart…….sometimes.

Or use the GitHub page for English explanations.

This isn’t rocket science.

Far too complicated. It is easier and faster to use the DBI in the desired language.

Ok. Maybe I’m doing something wrong. I took a picture, then highlighted the text. Took maybe 2 minutes, but now I know this means “Tickets”.

Well, honeypot is generally used to describe system designed in such way, that it tricks attacker into mistaking it for real system.

In this case, it would be supposedly used to trick people into using the seemingly translated version, while it would do... what exactly? Translate the application? Do some unspecified system changes? Play a sound? Kill a kitten?

Whatever. I still fail to see the logic - like, if you were duckbill, and wanted to trick english speaking users into using such malicious version... why not just release it yourself (Ah! So maybe I am duckbill? Now THAT would at least make sense).

Anyway, it seems like this translated version was already included in numerous packs, so I am quite intrigued in what exactly is supposed to happen. :D

duckbill: Congratulations, you fell for the English version of DBI. Now your console has a tag that can only be removed by rolling back from a backup. Get ready for a wide variety of glitches.

If this is true and dbi does indeed alter the device's system because of a translation of his app, I would hope GBAtemp admin would step up and ban the living shit out of him. This bad joke from that xenophobic sociopath has lasted long enough.

Recently, I have again experienced rapid battery drain when Wi-Fi is enabled in standby mode, even though this seemed to have been fixed at the end of July by certain entries in Atmosphére's system_settings.ini. Could this be related to the modified version of the DBI?

I am using AMS 1.9.4|20.4.0|E.

Could be thousand reasons. Could be hardware issue, could be bug in recent firmware. Duckbill somehow draining your battery in standby is the least plausible explanation I can think of.

Well, I don't know if you can call it slow when the battery discharges from 100% to 10% within half a day.
This "problem" has been known since the upgrade to firmware 20.x.x
To limit this, we turn off the Wi-Fi.
So from long time ;)
And DBI is an homebrew, use on launch, not a sys-module
