For me FTP Server and the Search for title updates is not working in the english version.
And does it work in russian version? Just to rule out compatibility issues. Just checked browsing SD card using FTPManager for iOS and downloaded title updates.

Yeah. No. I'll have to pass based on what duckbill said about it. Imo the info should be added to the first post here. People will get excited, start using it, then wonder why shits not working right down the road.

Morce3232: Will you mind if the translation is added as an nro patch?

duckbill: If you want to add it as a patch – go ahead, but warn users that there may be surprises.
486 – the last one without checks
Nothing destructive will happen. It will just start forgetting to do what was asked, and the further it goes, the more often it will happen.

The conversation log posted on rashevskyv's DBI release on Github did not mention @Morce3232 at all, it just says Me. That may be rashevskyv, or someone else.

When is says "DBI 810 - Patched by Morce3232", then goes on to post a conversation with duckbill including a person asking him if it's okay for them to patch it, who do you think most people would think "me" would be? It was absolutely fair and more than reasonable to make the assumption that the person asking duckbill if it's okay to patch it is the same person that is was "patched by". If the assumption was incorrect, it's due to how it's worded on the git. And if that assumption bothers Morce3232, they can ask rashevskyv to make the clarification. But again, the assumption was more than fair and reasonable to make even though I ended up being wrong.

I gotta ask: Why are people so hung up on this app? Does it have anything exclusive to it?
Can't sphaira/tinfoil etc. do the same things or better?
i'm curious too I mean Spharia also can do mtp tranfers/nsp installs so why are people playing russian roulette with their switch? (yeah i DID intend the pun)

Worth noting that DBI uses titledb and nx-versions which also relies on titledb as a source for searching title updates and just so happens that titledb has been outdated for months and the author @blawar is MIA therefore don't count on accurate reports from it.

I wouldn't call it MIA, but yeah - last time he was active on github around 3 weeks ago. Doesn't help the fact that any Switch FW update breaks titledb and scripts need to be updated, and we got those updates pretty often lately.

They cannot mount games data as MTP device. Which is currently for me the best way to get access to exefs.

And beside that Tinfoil sucks in anything that is not related to piracy - unstable as hell.
Sphaira author also disappeared recently, he removed Issues page from sphaira repository, moved out from many Discord servers, his gbatemp account was deleted.

So DBI seems to be the last actively supported tool for file and game management.

Thanks for clarifying the issue. Welp, I guess this is it then.
Luckily for me, that feature isn't something I want and for everything else what we already have is good enough.
It will suck to maintain the translation patch I guess, so my best wishes to all involved.

DBI can browse and install files and updates from a server over the network (not only FTP but HTTP, webdav...) which is useful if you have your library locally on a NAS or shared drive.

And it has other features that are little known but very useful, such as modifying installed titles to disable account linking requirements or screenshot/screen record restrictions.

Also about that. Switch stores locally info about every newest game update available, excluding DLCs.

Just made a tool for dumping it in the form used by titledb's "versions.txt" here:
https://github.com/masagrator/versionDumper

So getting info about newest game updates is not an issue (as long as you don't have banned Switch).

I'm personally storing dump here:
https://github.com/masagrator/version_dump/blob/main/version_dump.txt
But maybe someone can automate this process somehow since I'm pushing this manually. :P
