Ive Seen That ppl are Postin y does the danny phantom logo com up on some dsi flash cards like the r4i

The reason the Danny Phantom Logo come up is that the dsi has some built in list of rom codes that it reads every card for anti piaracy, when new games come out they have some codes that nintendo uses to tell the dsi that if it isnt a flashcart, so when loaded on a dsi V1.4 Firmware your flash carts uses part of a real game rom such as danny Phantom to trick the dsi into thinking it is an oficial card

also im just making it smaller in case you dont want to clock on the link but full details

Found On Team Twiizers Site just summerizing it

Well, that much can be gathered from common sense.

I was hoping I'd get an explanation why it had to be Danny Phantom, of all things.

Before you decide to share with us any other stupid knowledge that you think you know, learn how to spell Piracy.

Click and Clock are very different things.

Perhaps you could make your post so small we couldn't see it, that would be great!

The 1.4 firmware was released on July 30, 2009. Do you think we've all been sitting around on our hands for the last 8 months waiting for you to post that?

They use Danny Phantom because Nintendo doesn't care about Danny Phantom. And probably because it has "Phantom" in the name

At least it's better than one of those "imagine" games.

No...I think it's since these updates are illegal for the flashcart teams they wanted to choose very unpopular games so they're less likely to get sued.

This thread is very useless. And some of this info doesn't seem correct.

That'd mean that newer flashcarts would work on DSi 1.4.

That's not "ROM codes" though. It's security data and RSA signatures.

@DeltaBurnt: Nope, they chose non-Nintendo games so that Nintendo wouldn't pay as much attention. Supercard used Star Wars games (those are probably at least a little popular).

If it were me, i'd use the header from a Demo ROM instead... if that's feasible. I'm sure they could find some way of doing it with the many Demos avalible. Demos by definition are free...

Seeing how M3, Supercard, Acekard have all used Danny Phantom I imagine there's more to it. Probably an exploit in the ROM.
Didn't I just say that Supercard used Star Wars? Not to mention that the AR DSi uses Game & Watch Collection, and the EZFlash Vi (and a lot of R4 clones) use Tak.

All very unpopular games.

Either that or their headers are ripe for bypassing the DSi block because they're the correct size/info.

I wasn't meant to post that, I was reading multiple threads at the same time. I'm sure I quickly removed it after I added it. Bollocks.

I was reading another thread by PV where all the icons for the carts apart from the iEdge (Sodoko Puzzle League) are listed http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=176...t=0&start=0 and fucked up with the copy paste.

At the end of the day, who gives a flyin' eff why its DP icon....the main thing is that a universal workaround was made to allow flashcarts to work on a DSi.
This thread is a total waste of ink & paper

no, the newer flashcarts wouldn't be on the internal whitelist..
Ignore my last few posts. I meant it'd mean that newer games wouldn't be on it's whitelist.

...They'd still work though (genuine RSA signature)

I'm pretty sure nickelodeon is paying the flashcart teams to put the logo there as advertising...

or maybe all the flashcart teams are owned by nickelodeon?!
